Gawler Microlights is based at the Gawler Airfield, about 40 kms North of Adelaide.

Instructions for Driving to Gawler Airfield from Adelaide
- Approaching Gawler along Main North Road (the A20) take the Gawler bypass - a continuation of the A20
- Continue north on the A20 for approximately 6.7 km’s where you turn left at the Mallala exit. After 350 metres, at the tee intersection, turn right into Mallala road.
- To assist people, there are small blue signs at the intersections that say "Airfield" - they are small, so keep a good look out.
- Travel north along Mallala road for about 610 metres then turn left into Kentish Road.
- Travel south along Kentish Road for approximately 1.35km then bear right into Lange Road (this is more of a bend in the road rather than an intersection).
- Travel south west along Lange Road for 800 metres, crossing the rail line, and turn left at the first intersect.
- Continue south for 150 metres; turn left at the tee intersection into Ward Belt Road.
Dust is a problem for our neighbours on the last 400m of Ward Belt Road. Reduce your speed to at least 25kph for their sake - go slower if necessary to reduce the dust.
- After about 800 metres you should be at the first of the hangers. There are no signs at present so you will need to ask for directions.
- For your safety you must not stray onto the airfield taxiways or runways. Remain on the perimeter roads and keep a good look out for people, road making machinery and aircraft.
NOTE There is a 25kph speed limit for all airfield roads. If there has been a lot of rain, it is advisable not to leave the prepared roadways because the ground can be very soft in places - you could become bogged.
Gawler Microlights hangar is in the second row of hangars north from the main club rooms, and the second hangar back from the airstrip. It has a large coloured sign on top of the door. Please ring Rob on 0428 527 200, if lost.
Gawler Microlights is based at the Adelaide Soaring Club in Gawler South Australia. Originally a RAAF Military base many years ago, has been used as a gliding club since. We operate just outside a Military restricted air zone and must get clearance to operate above 1500ft.
We have a small group of trikes that fly from this site on most weekends and have two hangers on the field. Most of the guys (no girls yet) are really nice people.... Some have there faults and others just adjust to allow for them.
Some don't clean their Trikes, others talk too much on the radio, and some are bald, skinny, and some are just plain ugly. But we do all have one thing in common....
WE LOVE TO FLY TRIKES!!!
